for Victorian Schools & Colleges
A 5-day Initial OHS course

The Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) Initial OHS Training Course is primarily designed for HSRs - and their deputies. However managers, supervisors, Health and Safety Committee members - and indeed anyone with an interest in workplace health and safety  - also will benefit from attending the program.

This course is particularly suited to people from schools and colleges. We offer discounted course fees for participants in the Education system.

OSHA is approved by WorkSafe Victoria to conduct this course.

Courses are generally conducted in 2 phases over consecutive weeks:

Week 1 (Tue, Wed, Thur) - 3 consecutive days; followed by
Week 2 (Tue, Wed) - 2 consecutive days in the next week.

Please Note:  The Ringwood Course in March is now fully subscribed.

Please select another date.

WorkSafe Victoria encourages all HSRs to attend training, as soon as possible after they have been elected. This training will help a HSR to understand their roles and exercise their powers effectively.  Deputy HSRs also have an entitlement to this training. Section 67 of the Vic OHS Act provides for HSRs (and Deputy HSRs) to choose their course in consultation with their employer.  (Please note: WSV require each participant to complete their own  enrolment form.)

Attendance at all sessions is required in order to be awarded a Certificate of Attendance. (As the course is not competency based, there is no formal assessment.)

Note: HSRs are also entitled to attend a 'Health & Safety Representative REFRESHER OHS Training Course' annually. CLICK HERE for details of our Victorian HSR REFRESHER COURSES.
* Payment is requested in order to confirm enrolment and reserve a place on a course.  See our payment terms here.
